        On August 1, 2025, the National Standardization Administration Committee officially issued the mandatory national standard GB 26572-2025 "Requirements for Restricted Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products", which will be officially implemented on August 1, 2027, completely replacing the recommended standard GB/T 26572-2011. This marks that RoHS in China has been officially upgraded to a mandatory national standard, and it is also the first mandatory national standard in the field of RoHS control in China. The release of this standard is not only a technical upgrade, but also a systematic promotion to the green transformation of China's electronic and electrical industry.

        Core content of GB 26572-2025 standard

        01 Refine classified management

        Requirements for classification of electrical and electronic products and restricted use of hazardous substances have been added: Class I products must meet both the limit and labeling requirements, while Class II products only need the labeling requirements (to encourage compliance with the limit).

        02 New category of harmful substances

        The types of harmful substances restricted to use were expanded from 6 to 10, and four phthalates were added.

        03 new identification requirements

        In the labeling requirements for the restricted use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products, the relevant contents of SJ/T 11364 are integrated into the mandatory standards, and the ways and requirements for digital expression of relevant labeling information such as two-dimensional code and screen display are added to reduce the RoHS control cost of enterprises.

        04 transitional arrangements

        ◆ Implement standards before January 1, 2026.

        GB/T 26572-2011 Requirements for Restricted Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products (current);

        SJ/T 11364—2006 "Identification Requirements for Pollution Control of Electronic Information Products" (current);

        ◆ Standards will be implemented from January 1, 2026 to July 31, 2027.

        GB/T 26572-2011 "Limited Requirements for Restricted Substances in Electronic and Electrical Products" and its amendment No.1;

        SJ/T 11364—2024 "Requirements for Identification of Hazardous Substances Restriction of Electrical Products";

        ◆ Standards will be implemented after August 1, 2027.
